2018 Lincoln Navigator vs GMC Yukon Denali

Serving Paramus, Clifton, and Hackensack, NJ

When it comes to full-size SUVs still being built using the body on frame style intended to provide a tough and dependable ride, both the 2018 Lincoln Navigator and 2018 GMC Yukon Denali are among the finest in their class. More importantly, they both enjoy the status of being uniquely American. Both of these SUVs offer an incredible amount of luxury. Fresh off a complete refresh in 2015, the Navigator has a lot to offer including a more fuel-efficient twin-turbocharged engine, an upgraded infotainment system, and improved ride.

The 2018 GMC Yukon Denali, on the other hand, is largely unchanged since the previous models. It did get a new 10-speed automatic transmission added to its stables in an attempt to improve its less than stellar fuel economy. We believe you will find the 2018 Lincoln Navigator still continues to lead the pack and after reading this, we think you will feel the same way.

Performance

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator comes with a single powerplant under the hood of each trim level. This is a very healthy 3.5-liter turbocharged V6 engine rated at 450 horsepower. This engine cranks out an unbelievable 500 lb-ft of torque that is transmitted directly to a 10-speed automatic transmission. You can order your Navigator with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive if you want a vehicle that can handle any driving conditions you are likely to come across. The 2018 GMC Yukon Denali comes standard with a 6.2 V8 engine rated at 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. This engine is also coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Coming with such a large engine, the fuel economy ratings for the Denali are significantly less than those of the Navigator. Like the Navigator, the Yukon also comes with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

Interior

The interior of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator features a binnacle dash wearing an all-new leather wrapper featuring twin stitched seams creating a luxurious interior that has few rivals. On the other side of the coin is the 2018 GMC Yukon Denali that offers a more modern take on luxury replete with ambient lighting. The Navigator features tri-zone automatic climate controls, eight-way power front seats including power lumbar support and heat. You also get power-adjustable pedals and a pair of power-folding heated second-row captain's chairs in the second row and a power folding third-row bench with 60/40 split for added cargo ability.

Technology

The 2018 Lincoln Navigator features a user-configurable gauge cluster display and a 10-inch full-color touchscreen display as part of the Sync 3 interface. This system integrates with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. You will no less than 6 USB ports spread throughout the cabin for convenience. Voice controls are standard as is a blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alerting, and a 14-speaker audio system.
